On Sunday, authorities held a news conference noting the body was identified using dental records.

On Saturday, police announced they had ended their search at an Escondido, Calif. park saying they had found nothing of evidentiary interest, thus, “Police refused to tip their hand as to any new developments…,” until today, according to 10 News.

Amber, 14, went missing in early 2009 while walking to Escondido High School. Many have speculated, including her father, Maurice Dubois, that the man charged with the rape and murder of San Diego teen, Chelsea King, 17, may have played a role in his Amber’s disappearance.

John Albert Gardner III, a registered sex offender, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday after being charged with killing and assaulting Chelsea.
